Weekly Share Spotlight 8/17/2018


First round of Burnt Oak Sauce is ready (Broken Oak Farm's version of Sriracha) limited bottles will be available at pick up. We will also take orders for the batches still to come!

 

We have a few exciting new foods this week. There are more melons ready and those we’ve eaten already have been great. There are also both french fillet beans and dragon tongue beans. I can’t decide which is my favorite of these, I love them both. Harvesting these new foods in the smoke is tricky as they are all fairly labor intensive and we have such awful air quality this week. We will do our best to have good amounts for you! There will also be tomatoes, peppers, chiles, cucumbers, summer squash, onions, garlic, potatoes, and leeks. We may sneak a few other things in if we can be out in the field long enough. We made these green beans recently, and they were great. If you like garlic, you will enjoy them! If not, reduce the amount of garlic.
